Jessica Bartels serves as the 7th Grade Principal at West Clermont Middle School on the east side of Cincinnati. Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Principal of Teaching and Learning at West Clermont Middle School and as Coordinator of Secondary Teaching and Learning for West Clermont Schools, supporting instructional improvement and curriculum development. Dr. Bartels earned her Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Cincinnati, where she also taught undergraduate education courses. Before moving into educational leadership, she taught 9th grade English for seven years at Carlisle High School. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Miami University and a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University. Her professional interests include literacy, middle-level education, instructional leadership, and systems that support equitable outcomes for all students.
